Wild Horse of the Ozarks

Free roaming wild horses live in the Ozark National Scenic Riverways and the surrounding lands. They have been living in the wild for over one hundred years. After diligent work by the Missouri Wild Hose League, the small bands of horses have become a protected part of our Ozark Heritage. As the herd grazed, this mare was watching me closely while I captured photos. I always kept a respectful distance, as all observers are expected to do in order to keep these horses safely in the wild.
