American Hazelnut

This native shrub provides delicious, high protein nuts eaten by Bobwhite Quail, Wild Turkey, Ruffed Grouse, Red-Bellied Woodpecker, Blue Jay, as well as Eastern Chipmunk and Squirrels (and people). White-tailed Deer and Cottontail Rabbits eat the twigs and leaves. It also provides good nesting habitat for songbirds.
